STILL WATERS

I honestly and sincerely pray that you and your families have not been scarred by the pandemic. Sadly, the pandemic has deeply impacted our local photographic community with the loss of Bill Dobbins. Bill was the owner of Peoria Camera Shop, and his death has resulted in its closure. Bill was an outstanding man and is already greatly missed. Hopefully we are finally emerging from this terrible pandemic.

On a lighter note, although I haven’t written a new blog for a year, I have been spending my time somewhat wisely. I’ve explored and refined new techniques and technical advances in both focus stacking and stitching to create super 200 megapixel plus images. I’m still playing with the image below, and introducing  other   backgrounds. If you care to give me your feedback, it would be greatly appreciated.

I then coupled focus stacking and stitching with my perspective control (PC) architectural lens to create some extreme detailed architectural interior images.

Recently, I thoroughly enjoyed photographing a property in Memphis, Tennessee, done by interior designer Anna Lattimore. Her client is a gallery owner who fancies black-and-white photography. Check out the black-and-white photographic print on the back wall! It’s an original Lange from the 1936 “Migrant Mother” series. What a distraction that was! I jokingly told Anna not to turn her back on me or I’d be loading it in my van.

I’m not the most prolific writer, but what do you expect from a dyslexic photographer? However, I plan on doing much better this year with my writing as I continue to explore super megapixel imagery.

I am at the stage in my career and life where I only need to create images that bring joy. In other words, I plan on exploring the creation of images that I find interesting and to only work with my most favorite clients. I’ll leave you for now with this wall decoration composite titled, “Still Waters”.
